Our mission is to create, establish, and help maintain hometown memorials in honor of the brave men and women who have lost their lives defending the United States of America in the war against terrorism. Known as the “Lest They Be Forgotten” Memorial Projects, each monument becomes a visible testament of appreciation and compassion to the families of the fallen.
The Fallen Heroes Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, has been honoring Michigan’s Fallen Heroes since 2006. The FHMF is the only organization dedicated exclusively to building memorials honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the war on terror. To date we have dedicated 26 memorials throughout Michigan honoring 36 of our Fallen Heroes. We work with Gold Star Families to ensure their loved one’s service and sacrifice are never forgotten. For some families the memorial offers closure when their loved one is buried far away.
The foundation operates solely through private donations and community funding. No federal, state or local government monies are received. Donations from Gold Star Families are not solicited or accepted. Each project is a grass roots community endeavor to honor and remember these brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
America owes these service members and their families a debt that can never be repaid. The FHMF recognizes the need to keep in sacred remembrance those who died serving our country and to remember with sincere respect those who paid the price for our freedoms. We need to never let them be forgotten.
The Fallen Heroes Memorial Foundation’s officers, board of directors and staff members are volunteers who donate their time and talent without monetary compensation.
